About the Team:
Our team within the Industrial Business specializes in taking on the most significant engineering projects in the Mining & Metallurgy, Chemical, Food, pharma sector, ensuring safe, reliable, low carbon nuclear power generation, and preparations for safe and efficient defueling. We also support other parts of the Atkins Nuclear & Power business covering the full life cycle from new build through to deconstruction.
The opportunities we have are varied in size and responsibility levels, from delivering our consultancy services, to working for the client organization delivering their projects and programs.
Atkins Global Technology Centre (GTC) is looking to appoint a
Revit Designer (Structural/Civil)
to join our team. This role will be based at our Atkins office in Mumbai, India.
Responsibilities -
Directly performs work of designers and drafters, including the preparation of 3D models using
Revit
as the primary application. Experience with
Tekla Structures
is a plus, especially for steel structure.
Prepares layouts, study drawings, and detailed construction drawings using
Revit
,
Tekla Structures
, and 2D CAD software like
AutoCAD
and
MicroStation
.
Proficient in Structural and Civil design and development, Plant design, including concept sketches and other building layouts.
Prepares or reviews engineering studies and reports.
Responsible for the accuracy of bulk material quantity take-offs and material requisitions for materials applicable to the discipline.
Issues engineering drawings for Inter Discipline Check (IDC) and coordinates with other engineering disciplines to resolve technical issues.
Prepares and reviews inputs required for pre-engineering surveys.
Proficient in
Navisworks
review capabilities, as required.
Performs interdisciplinary checks of all Civil / Structural / Piping / Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation drawings.
Reviews project parameters related to Civil and Structural requirements.
Familiarity with
Tekla Structures
will be considered an advantage for future steel structure projects.
Required skills and experience -
Engineering Graduate or Engineering Diploma or ITI with experience between 3 to 7 Years mainly for Mining & Metallurgy, Power Substations, Chemical and Petrochemicals multidisciplinary of medium and large size projects.
Thorough awareness of international codes and standards used for Structural and Civil design in the industry.
Shall be Capable of Producing Revit Model Independently in coordination with other disciplines.
Maintain suitable records of correspondence and work completed for reference and auditing purposes.
Able to present / represent their technical work.
Working knowledge of standard codes and EDMS (Electronic Data Management System).
Familiar with planning and scheduling of basic drafting tasks in designated disciplines.
Shows flexibility in work tasks and locations.
An effective and reliable team member able to apply knowledge gained.
Responsible for completion of specifically assigned tasks to time and cost.
Ensuring that drawings issued are in accordance with the agreed standards as required by the US / UK & ME region.
Desirable skills and experience -
Must be an advanced user of Revit & Its equivalent tools for Plant Design with capabilities to federate individual discipline models, maintain and run clash related activities for discipline models.
Must be able to use Navisworks to generate clash results, manage clash resolution, redline BIM Models, capture viewpoints and cascade reports to discipline teams.
Preparation of reports such as feasibility studies, method statements, specifications, design reports, schedules, construction drawings and bills of quantities.
