The FOB Structural Engineer will be responsible for the
structural analysis, design, detailing, and execution support
of
Foot Over Bridges (FOBs)
in railway projects.
Key Responsibilities
Structural design and analysis of
FOBs (RCC / Steel / Composite)
.
Preparation and checking of:
General Arrangement Drawings (GADs)
Structural drawings and construction drawings
Bar Bending Schedules (BBS)
Design calculation reports
Design of:
Superstructure, substructure, and foundations
Staircases, ramps, lifts, escalator support structures
Load analysis including:
Pedestrian live loads
Temperature and fatigue effects
Ensure compliance with:
Coordination with:
Track, signaling, electrical (OHE), and architectural teams
Project management consultants and railway authorities
Site visits and supervision during:
FOB erection and launching over live tracks
Critical lifting and construction activities
Preparation of technical documents for
Railway / RDSO approvals
Conduct structural safety checks and resolve site-related issues
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of
RCC and Steel structural design
Experience with
railway safety norms and procedures
Proficiency in design software:
STAAD Pro / ETABS / SAP2000 / MIDAS
Good understanding of construction methodology over running tracks
Ability to prepare and review technical submissions
Strong coordination and communication skills
Qualifications
B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering
(mandatory)
M.E./M.Tech in Structural Engineering
(preferred)
Experience
Minimum
3-10 years
experience in:
Railway / Metro / Infrastructure projects
Design or execution of
FOBs or similar structures
