Job Summary:

The

Structural Fabricator

is responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing metal structures and frames as per drawings and specifications. The role involves cutting, measuring, and welding steel components to create beams, columns, trusses, and other structural assemblies used in industrial and construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Read and interpret

engineering drawings, blueprints, and structural layouts

accurately. Measure, cut, drill, and grind steel components using fabrication tools and machines. Fit and assemble structural parts such as

beams, channels, angles, and plates

. Perform tack welding and assist welders during assembly. Ensure components meet dimensional accuracy and alignment before final welding. Conduct fit-up inspections to ensure compliance with project standards. Operate fabrication shop equipment such as

cutting machines, grinders, and measuring instruments

. Maintain safety standards and ensure tools and materials are handled properly. Coordinate with supervisors, welders, and fitters for smooth project execution. Identify and report any design or material issues to the supervisor.

Qualifications & Experience:

ITI / Diploma

in Mechanical or related trade. Minimum

3-5 years of experience

in

structural steel fabrication

(workshop or site). Ability to interpret

fabrication and assembly drawings

accurately. Knowledge of

cutting, grinding, and measuring tools

. Familiarity with welding processes (SMAW / MIG / TIG) preferred. Basic understanding of

material grades and fabrication tolerances
