Job Description

A

Structural Detailer

is responsible for preparing

shop drawings, erection drawings, and connection details

for all structural steel components used in a PEB system. This includes columns, rafters, purlins, girts, bracings, and other accessories.

Key Responsibilities

Reading and interpreting design drawings

Understand architectural and structural design intent. Identify critical load-bearing members and design constraints.

Preparing detailed fabrication drawings

Create detailed 2D/3D drawings of steel components. Include dimensions, weld details, bolt holes, and member sizes. Generate

Bill of Materials (BOM)

for fabrication.

Preparing erection drawings

Provide clear guidance for on-site assembly. Show member placement, orientation, and connection details.

Connection detailing

Detail bolted/welded joints between primary and secondary members. Ensure compliance with PEB standards and codes (e.g., AISC, MBMA, IS 800).

Use

AutoCAD

MBS (Metal Building Software)

for modeling and detailing. Generate fabrication-ready data for CNC machines.

Quality checks & coordination

Coordinate with design engineers, production, and erection teams. Ensure accuracy and clash-free detailing before fabrication.
