The knowledge of drafting and design is essential in achieving the best quality construction works and communication with other stakeholders result in effective construction projects.

Roles and Duties

Structural draftsmen are critical in translating construction plans into physical structure while maintaining the key standards and legal requirements of the construction industry while performing following duties or responsibilities.

Develop drawings (plans, sections, elevations) and models of structures using software like CAD.

Include regulations and specifications of the engineering sector.

Ensure compliance with standard and legal requirements of the industry.

Work with engineers and architects to ensure adherence to design.

Develop and maintain proper records of drawings and process work.

Execute quality control checks on structural documents.

Achieve set goals for a certain project and ensure that quality work is produced.

Draw and submit the necessary documents to regulatory agencies.

Qualifications And Certifications

Below mentioned are the educational qualifications and certification followed for the role of property consultant:

Diploma or Certificate in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Drafting.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related fields.

Professional certifications such as Revit Certified User, Certified CAD Technician (CCT), Certified Draftsperson (CD), Certified Structural Draftsman (CSD), and others are suggested.

Skills And Expertise

Following are the skills set and experience:

2-5 years of professional experience in structural drafting.

Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation).

Knowledge of structural analysis software (ETABS, STAAD).

Understanding of local building codes and regulations.

Adaptability and flexibility.

Customer service and problem-solving skills.

Communication and negotiation skills.

Problem-solving, time management, and active listening skills
