Job Description

Please apply only if you have more than two years of experience in creating storyboards for animated explainer videos for a B2B organization/clients. Job Summary: -Storyboard artists help the storytelling team create a visual representation of the animation's narrative. Storyboard artists translate the script and the overall vision into pictures. They produce a series of panels of images to plan animation and ensure continuity between them. These form the basis for the animation in the next stage of production. As a storyboard artist, you not only create images but also come up with visual solutions to narrative problems.Role & Responsibilities of a storyboard artist: -

• Liaising with writers, animators, and project managers regarding the look, style, and level of detail required for the storyboard of each animation
• Reading and interpreting scripts
• Breaking down the script with the director to identify key scenes and plan them visually
• Sequencing the scenes from a script into storyboard format using panels of images
• Including special effects in the storyboard frames

Areas of Expertise: -

• Drawing: have excellent drawing skills and be able to produce artwork in a range of styles
• Storytelling: be able to communicate a narrative well.
• Knowledge of animation: be literate in animation with a good understanding of layout, composition, sequential drawing and editing as well as a strong understanding of framing.
• Learning by watching and asking: observe what's happening in your department and company, take initiative, and ask questions at appropriate times.
• Knowledge of the principles of storytelling, ie: the hero's Journey.
• Ability to interpret the ideas of others into detailed drawings.
• Strong layout and design skills.
• Adaptability in working with different projects who will demand varying degrees of complexity from storyboards .
• Strong artistic ability, and knowledge of how to present visuals in a convincing way.

Storyboard artists should have the knowledge of a combination of the following software:

• Adobe Photoshop
• Adobe Illustrator

Education: -

• Bachelor's degree in arts, science or fine arts.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in creating storyboards for B2B Explainer Videos.
