Job Description

A store or warehouse officer is responsible for managing the receiving, storage, and shipping of goods, maintaining accurate inventory, and supervising warehouse staff. Key duties include organizing new inventory, conducting stock counts, loading/unloading products, and ensuring efficient workflow and safety within the warehouse. Key responsibilities

Inventory management:

Maintaining accurate stock levels by verifying, organizing, and counting inventory.

Warehouse operations:

Overseeing and performing tasks such as receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping goods.

Team supervision:

Leading warehouse assistants or staff, assigning duties, and monitoring task execution to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

Record keeping:

Documenting warehouse transactions, maintaining records, and managing related paperwork.

Safety and efficiency:

Implementing safety protocols and procedures, maintaining a clean and organized warehouse, and ensuring proper storage to minimize damage.
Qualifications and skills

Education:

A high school diploma is typically the minimum, but a degree in logistics or supply chain management can provide a competitive edge.

Experience:

Experience in warehouse or store management is often required, with specific needs varying by role.

Skills:

Proficiency with computers and warehouse management systems, strong communication, analytical thinking, and the ability to work under pressure are crucial.
