The Stores In-Charge / QA / QS will manage end-to-end stores operations, quality control processes, and quality system documentation while also supervising import-export activities. The role requires strong knowledge of inventory management, quality assurance practices, and logistics documentation including CHA coordination, GST compliance, and customs-related processes. The candidate will ensure smooth material flow, adherence to quality standards, and timely import/export movements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Stores Management
Oversee receipt, inspection, storage, and issuance of raw materials, consumables, spare parts, and finished goods.
Maintain accurate stock records in ERP (SAP/Tally/any ERP).
Conduct stock audits, cycle counts, and reconciliation.
Monitor stock levels and coordinate with purchase/production.
Ensure proper storage, preservation, and safety protocols.
Manage GRN, DC, gate entries, and all inventory documentation.
2. Quality Assurance (QA)
Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections for metal cans and raw materials.
Verify dimensional accuracy, welding, seaming, coating, and visual standards.
Maintain inspection reports, test records, and quality documentation.
Support defect reduction, quality improvement, and root-cause analysis.
Ensure compliance with customer specifications and industry standards.
3. Import-Export & CHA Coordination
Handle complete import-export documentation including invoices, packing lists, HS codes, and declarations.
Coordinate with CHA (Custom House Agent) for clearance of imported raw materials and export consignments.
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements--Customs, DGFT, ICEGATE, and port-related processes.
Monitor container bookings, shipping schedules, and freight forwarders.
Manage B/L, AWB, Delivery Orders, Bill of Entry, Shipping Bills, etc.
Resolve logistics or customs clearance issues promptly.
4. GST & Compliance
Prepare and verify GST-related documents for inbound and outbound materials.
Coordinate with accounts for GST input credit, reconciliation, and tax documentation.
Ensure accuracy in e-way bills, e-invoices, and statutory records.
Maintain compliance with all taxation and regulatory requirements for imports and exports and domestic transactions
6. Coordination & Reporting
Collaborate with production, purchase, dispatch, and accounts teams.
Communicate with vendors, transporters, CHA, and customers when needed.
Prepare daily/weekly/monthly MIS on inventory, quality, and logistics.
Ensure timely and accurate documentation for audits and management review.
Skills & Competencies Required:
Strong experience in metal cans / metal packaging manufacturing.
Knowledge of quality tools and measuring instruments (Vernier, micrometer, gauges).
Good understanding of ISO 9001, QA/QC processes, and documentation.
Hands-on experience with import-export procedures, CHA coordination, and logistics.
Proficiency in GST compliance, e-way bills, e-invoicing, and statutory filings.
ERP proficiency and strong MS Excel/reporting skills.
Excellent communication, team handling, and problem-solving abilities.
Educational Qualification:
Graduate with strong relevant experience in metal packaging or sheet metal industry.
