Job Description

Role Objective:

To ensure efficient receipt, storage, issue, and control of materials, maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting production requirements through timely material availability, while minimizing non-moving and obsolete stock.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Inventory Management

Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet production and dispatch plans.

Conduct regular stock audits (cycle counting / physical verification) and reconcile discrepancies.

Monitor slow-moving, non-moving, and obsolete items; coordinate for timely disposal or usage.

Ensure FIFO / FEFO adherence in all storage and issue transactions.

Maintain inventory accuracy in SAP

2. Material Receipt & Storage

Ensure proper gate entry, GRN preparation, and material inspection.

Segregate materials as per type (RM, PM, FG, scrap, rejection, etc.).

Ensure safe storage, proper identification, and tagging of materials.

Monitor space utilization and housekeeping in the store area.



3. Material Issue & Dispatch

Issue materials as per approved production / maintenance indents.

Track material movement through ERP and physical records.

Coordinate with production, quality, and logistics for dispatch and inward planning.

Ensure rejection, scrap, and returnable material handling as per process.



4. Documentation & System Transactions

Maintain all store-related documentation (GRN, issue slips, RGP/NRGP, gate passes, etc.).

Ensure ERP posting is timely and error-free.

Support internal / statutory audits (stock, ISO, financial, etc.) with full documentation.



5. Coordination & Reporting

Work closely with SCM, Production, and Quality for material planning and shortage control.

Prepare daily / weekly / monthly inventory reports - stock status, aging, variances, etc.



Present inventory KPIs (stock value, accuracy %, non-moving %, etc.) to management.



6. Compliance & Safety



Ensure adherence to company policies, SOPs, and safety norms in store operations.



Implement 5S and continuous improvement practices in stores.
