Job Description

Job Summary : Waterproofing of large Hydraulic Structures like dams, canals, tunnels, reservoirs etc & Construction Works Stores Manager/Executive Chennai/Project Sites The Stores Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling all storekeeping activities for construction projects, ensuring timely availability of materials, proper storage, accurate inventory control, and compliance with company procedures and statutory requirements. The role supports uninterrupted project execution by maintaining optimal stock levels and minimizing material losses and wastage.

Key Responsibilities
Inventory & Stores Management

Plan, organize, and supervise receipt, storage, issue, and preservation of construction materials.

Maintain minimum and maximum stock levels in coordination with project and procurement teams.

Ensure FIFO / LIFO practices as applicable for consumables and materials.

Conduct periodic physical stock verification and reconcile discrepancies. Material Receipt & Issue

Verify materials received against Purchase Orders, Delivery Challans, and Inspection Reports.

Ensure quality, quantity, and specification compliance at the time of receipt.

Issue materials strictly as per approved Material Requisition Slips (MRS). Documentation & Records

Maintain accurate stock registers, bin cards, inward/outward registers, and ERP entries.

Track material consumption, returns, surplus, and scrap.

Prepare periodic inventory reports, consumption statements, and aging analysis. Coordination & Control

Coordinate with Procurement, Planning, QA/QC, and Site Execution teams.

Support timely procurement by providing stock status and lead-time inputs.

Assist commercial team in reconciliation of material bills and audits. . Loss Prevention & Compliance

Ensure proper storage, stacking, and preservation of materials to prevent damage and deterioration.

Implement theft control, safety, and security measures in the stores area.

Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory norms, and audit requirements. Team & Vendor Management

Supervise storekeepers, helpers, and security staff assigned to stores.

Guide and train staff on proper material handling and documentation.

Coordinate with transporters and unloading agencies as required. Key Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of construction materials (cement, steel, aggregates, electrical, mechanical items, consumables, etc.)

Inventory control and reconciliation

ERP / SAP / Oracle or equivalent inventory systems

Documentation accuracy and audit readiness

Planning, coordination, and leadership

Good communication and reporting skills Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Engineering, Supply Chain, Materials Management, or related field

Certification in Stores / Inventory Management (preferred)



Experience

8-12 years of experience in stores management within construction / infrastructure / EPC projects

Prior experience in large projects such as dams, tunnels, power plants, industrial or civil works preferred



Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ?32,000.00 - ?42,000.00 per month
