The Stores In-Charge is responsible for efficiently managing all raw materials, finished goods, consumables, and spare parts used in paper-cup production. The role ensures accurate inventory control, timely availability of materials, safe storage, systematic documentation, and smooth coordination between the store and production departments.
Key Responsibilities:
A. Inventory Management
Receive, verify, and store all incoming raw materials (paper reels, PE-coated sheets, printing inks, bottom rolls, etc.).
Maintain optimum stock levels to avoid production delays.
Track consumption of materials based on production plans and report shortages.
Implement FIFO/FEFO for paper reels, packing materials, and chemicals.
Conduct daily/weekly/ monthly stock counts and reconcile variances.
B. Material Handling & Storage
Ensure safe handling and storage of raw materials to prevent moisture damage or contamination, especially paper reels and printed sheets.
Manage stacking, labeling, and storage in designated areas.
Coordinate with forklift/hand pallet operators where required.
C. Documentation & Recording
Maintain GRN (Goods Receipt Notes), issue slips, stock registers, bin cards, and ERP entries.
Update inward/outward records for:
o Paper rolls / bottom rolls
o Printing and lamination consumables
o Spare parts for machines
o Packaging materials (cartons, polybags, shrink films)
Prepare daily/weekly stock reports for management review.
D. Coordination & Support
Work closely with the production team to ensure timely issue of materials as per production order.
Coordinate with procurement for purchase requirements based on stock levels.
Liaise with quality control for incoming material inspection and rejection handling.
Support dispatch/logistics for finished goods movement.
E. Compliance & Safety
Ensure compliance with company SOPs, audit requirements, and statutory norms.
Maintain cleanliness and safety within store premises.
Prevent wastage, pilferage, and ensure proper locking/security of stores.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of inventory control systems
Familiarity with paper-cup manufacturing materials (paper reels, PE rolls, cups blanks, bottom reels, etc.)
Ability to operate basic store equipment (weighing machine, pallet trucks)
Basic understanding of ERP/Inventory software
Good communication and coordination skills.
Qualifications & Experience
Education: Diploma / Graduate in any relevant field.
Experience: 5-6 years in stores/inventory management;
experience in paper cup or packaging industry highly preferred.
Technical Knowledge: Inventory systems, material codes, quality parameters for paper materials.
