Role Summary:
The Stores Assistant will be responsible for supporting day-to-day store operations, including receiving, storing, issuing, and maintaining records of materials, tools, and spare parts. The role ensures proper stock management, accuracy of inventory, and smooth coordination with the production and purchase departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive, inspect, and physically verify incoming materials against purchase orders/invoices.
Ensure proper storage of raw materials, consumables, tools, and finished goods.
Issue materials as per requisitions to production and other departments.
Maintain accurate stock records in ERP/software/manual register.
Assist in stock audits, cycle counts, and reconciliation of inventory.
Ensure FIFO (First In First Out) / LIFO practices for material issuance.
Label and organize stock to ensure easy identification and retrieval.
Report stock shortages, excesses, or damages to the Store In-charge.
Coordinate with purchase, accounts, and production teams for smooth flow of materials.
Maintain cleanliness, safety, and compliance in the store area.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Knowledge of storekeeping, inventory control, and stock management.
Basic computer skills (MS Excel, ERP software preferred).
Good communication and coordination skills.
Attention to detail and record-keeping ability.
Knowledge of safety standards for handling materials.
Qualifications:
Minimum: 12th Pass / Diploma / Graduate in any discipline.
Preferred: Diploma/Certification in Materials Management / Inventory Control.
Experience: 1-5 years in storekeeping, preferably in a manufacturing/engineering company.
