The Store Keeper is responsible for efficiently managing, controlling, and maintaining all materials, tools, and equipment at the project site. This includes receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing, and maintaining accurate records to ensure smooth construction operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Material Receipt & Inspection
Receive materials delivered to the project site and verify quantity, quality, and specifications against purchase orders and delivery challans.
Report damaged or non-conforming materials to the procurement team for resolution.
Coordinate with the procurement and accounts departments for GRN (Goods Receipt Note) preparation.
2. Storage & Inventory Control
Arrange and store materials in an orderly manner for easy identification and access.
Maintain proper storage conditions to prevent damage, theft, or deterioration.
Tag and label materials for easy tracking.
3. Material Issuance & Tracking
Issue materials to site engineers and supervisors as per requisition slips.
Maintain daily records of materials issued and returned.
Monitor stock levels and notify the Project Manager for timely replenishment.
4. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain stock registers, bin cards, and computerized inventory records.
Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly stock reports.
Keep updated records for audits and inspections.
5. Coordination & Compliance
Coordinate with the procurement team for timely delivery of required materials.
Follow company policies, safety protocols, and inventory control procedures.
Assist in physical stock verification and reconciliation.
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
Diploma / Graduate (preferably in Material Management, Civil, or related field).
Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years as a Store Keeper in building/construction projects.
Other:
Knowledge of safety regulations and handling procedures.
