Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and experienced Storekeeper to manage the inventory of a construction site in Chennai. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of proven experience in a similar role and will be responsible for the efficient handling of all materials, from receiving and documenting to issuing and managing stock levels. This role is crucial for ensuring that the site has the right materials at the right time to avoid project delays.

Roles & Responsibilities



Inventory Management:

Maintain accurate records of all materials, tools, and equipment using an inward/outward register or digital system.

Receiving Materials:

Verify all incoming deliveries against purchase orders and challans. Inspect materials for quality and quantity, reporting any discrepancies or damages immediately. Document all received items and issue a Goods Received Note (GRN).

Issuing Materials:

Process material requisition slips from site engineers and project teams. Issue materials and update inventory records accordingly. Obtain signatures from recipients to acknowledge receipt of materials.

Stock Control:

Conduct regular physical counts of inventory and reconcile with records. Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the procurement team to prevent shortages.

Storage and Organization:

Ensure all materials are stored securely and systematically in their designated areas. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe storeroom, adhering to all safety protocols.

Reporting:

Prepare and submit daily or weekly reports on material consumption, stock levels, and any incidents.

Collaboration:

Work closely with the site team, security personnel, and procurement to ensure smooth material flow.

Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a Storekeeper, preferably in a construction or related industry.

Skills:



Knowledge of inventory management best practices. Proficiency in using inventory software or digital systems. Strong organizational and record-keeping abilities. Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. Ability to communicate effectively.
