We are seeking a reliable and experienced Stores Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of our warehouse/stores department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing inventory, ensuring accurate stock levels, supervising store personnel, and maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient storage area to support production and business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise all daily activities within the stores/warehouse to ensure efficient stock handling and storage.
Monitor stock levels, conduct regular inventory counts, and reconcile discrepancies.
Coordinate with procurement and production departments to ensure timely availability of materials.
Maintain accurate records of stock movement using inventory management systems (ERP or similar).
Ensure proper receipt, inspection, storage, and issuance of raw materials, consumables, tools, and finished goods.
Implement and maintain FIFO, LIFO, or other inventory methods as applicable.
Ensure adherence to safety protocols and cleanliness standards in the store area.
Train and supervise storekeepers, clerks, and other store personnel.
Generate daily/weekly/monthly reports on stock status and inventory turnover.
Liaise with logistics and quality departments for incoming/outgoing goods and material verification.
Monitor and manage slow-moving, obsolete, or damaged stock.
Participate in audits and support compliance with company and regulatory policies.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum 2-4 years of experience in a warehouse/stores supervisory role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with any ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Tally) and strong computer skills (Excel, Word).
Sound knowledge of inventory control practices and warehouse management.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of safety standards and procedures in warehousing and handling.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with lean manufacturing or 5S warehouse practices.
Forklift or warehouse equipment handling certification (if applicable).
Working Conditions:
Based in a manufacturing plant/warehouse environment.
May require occasional extended hours, weekends, or shift work depending on production needs.
