This position ensures optimal stock levels are maintained to support operations while controlling costs and managing supplier relationships.
Responsibilities
Inventory Management:
Monitor stock levels, organize storage areas, and conduct regular physical inventory counts and audits to ensure accuracy and prevent discrepancies.
Receiving & Dispatching:
Receive, inspect, and verify incoming goods against purchase orders and delivery notes, documenting any damages or discrepancies. Prepare and pack orders for shipment or internal distribution.
Purchasing & Procurement Support:
Initiate purchase requisitions when stock levels approach minimum reorder points. This may involve gathering quotes, evaluating suppliers based on quality and price, and occasionally placing low-value purchase orders.
Documentation & Record-Keeping:
Maintain meticulous records of all stock movements, including receipts, withdrawals, and returns, using inventory management software or ERP systems.
Organization & Safety:
Ensure the store area is clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety regulations. Use proper methods for storing materials to prevent damage or loss.
Supplier Coordination:

Essential Skills and Qualifications
Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required, with additional certifications in inventory management or supply chain a plus.
Experience:
Proven experience in a storekeeping, warehouse, or a related procurement/inventory control role is highly advantageous.

Proficiency in inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, WMS).

Familiarity with barcode scanners and other inventory tools.
