The Fashion Designer & Store Manager is responsible for overseeing both the
creative
and
operational
aspects of a fashion retail business. This role combines hands-on design work developing new collections, selecting fabrics, and staying on trend with day-to-day management of the store, including sales performance, visual merchandising, staff supervision, and customer experience.
Key Responsibilities Design & Creative Development
Research fashion trends, fabrics, colors, and materials to create seasonal collections.
Sketch, design, and develop new garments and accessories that align with brand identity.
Coordinate with pattern makers, tailors, and suppliers to ensure quality and timely production.
Manage fittings, alterations, and final product approvals.
Maintain design archives and oversee inventory of design materials and samples.
Store Management
Oversee daily store operations to ensure smooth business performance.
Train, supervise, and motivate sales associates and stylists to achieve sales targets.
Monitor stock levels, manage ordering, and coordinate with suppliers for inventory replenishment.
Ensure visual merchandising aligns with brand aesthetic and seasonal collections.
Handle customer service issues and ensure an excellent in-store experience.
Analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
Marketing & Brand Promotion
Collaborate on social media content, fashion shows, and promotional events.
Assist with branding strategies, visual storytelling, and customer engagement initiatives.
Build relationships with influencers, clients, and fashion media to increase brand visibility.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or diploma in
Fashion Design, Retail Management, or a related field
.
3-5+ years
of experience in fashion design and/or retail management.
Strong understanding of
fashion trends, fabrics, and garment construction
.
Excellent
leadership, communication, and customer service
skills.
Proficiency with design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CLO 3D) and retail POS systems.
Strong sense of style, organization, and attention to detail.
