To oversee all activities related to receipt, storage, issuance, and record maintenance of raw materials, packing materials, consumables, and finished goods at the factory unit. The Store Manager ensures accurate inventory control, compliance with chemical safety norms, and smooth coordination between production, purchase, and accounts teams.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Material Handling & Storage
Supervise inward and outward movement of all materials including raw materials, packing materials, consumables, and finished goods.
Verify materials against Purchase Orders and ensure timely preparation of
GRN (Goods Receipt Notes)
.
Ensure
proper labeling, segregation, and safe storage
of chemicals as per MSDS and hazard category.
Maintain
FIFO / FEFO
for material issuance and avoid expiry or deterioration.
Oversee weighing, sampling, and storage conditions (temperature, ventilation, segregation).
2. Inventory Control
Maintain accurate stock levels and ensure timely replenishment as per production requirements.
Conduct
daily / monthly physical stock verification
and reconcile with system data.
Identify and report non-moving, excess, or damaged materials to management.
Generate and share
inventory MIS reports
-- stock summary, material consumption, and reorder levels.
3. Documentation & System Updates
Maintain all inward, outward, and return material records in
ERP / Tally / Excel
as applicable.
Ensure proper documentation for
dispatches
,
transfer notes
, and
returnable materials
.
Maintain
batch-wise, lot-wise
inventory records for traceability.
Assist during
internal, ISO, or external audits
with updated store records.
4. Coordination & Communication
Coordinate closely with
Purchase Department
for pending orders and delivery follow-ups.
Liaise with
Production, Quality Control, and Accounts
teams for material planning and verification.
Communicate with transporters and vendors for smooth delivery and dispatch.
Support management with periodic
reports and consumption analysis
.
5. Safety & Compliance
Ensure all chemicals are stored safely following
MSDS guidelines
and company safety standards.
Maintain proper labeling of hazardous and flammable materials.
Monitor fire safety systems, PPE usage, and good housekeeping within the store premises.
Comply with all
factory, statutory, and EHS (Environment, Health, Safety)
requirements.
6. Team Management
Supervise store staff, helpers, and material handlers.
Allocate daily tasks, monitor attendance, and ensure discipline in store operations.
Train store team on
chemical handling, ERP entries, and safety protocols
.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Knowledge of
chemical storage norms
and safety compliance.
Strong in
inventory management, ERP/Tally, and Excel reporting
.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Eye for detail, accuracy in documentation.
Leadership and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with
ISO / audit documentation
preferred.
Qualifications & Experience:
Graduate / Diploma in
Materials Management, Supply Chain, or Commerce
.
5-10 years
of experience in
store/inventory management
, preferably in a
chemical or manufacturing industry
.
