To manage and oversee the site store operations effectively by ensuring proper receipt, storage, issuance, and record-keeping of construction materials and tools. The role involves maintaining accurate inventory, minimizing material loss/wastage, and ensuring smooth material flow to support uninterrupted construction activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of incoming and outgoing materials.
Conduct regular physical verification of stock and reconcile with system records.
Ensure correct storage and stacking of materials to prevent damage and facilitate easy retrieval.
Identify slow-moving and non-moving inventory and report the same to management.
Inspect and verify the quality and quantity of materials received at site as per Purchase Order (PO) and Delivery Challan.
Issue materials to site engineers/labourers as per approved requests and record all transactions properly.
Maintain records such as GRN (Goods Receipt Note), Issue Slips, Material Return Slips, Stock Register, and Bin Cards.
Ensure that material documentation complies with company policy and audit standards.
Coordinate with the head office/accounts team for invoices, vendor bills, and reconciliations.
Organize the store layout for systematic storage of construction materials like cement, steel, plumbing, electrical, tiles, paints, etc.
Maintain cleanliness and safety standards within the store premises.
Ensure protection of materials from weather, theft, and damage.
Work closely with the site engineers, procurement department, and vendors for timely material availability.
Prepare and submit daily/weekly/monthly material consumption and stock reports.
Highlight shortages, fast-moving materials, and stock alerts proactively.
Supervise store assistants/helpers and allocate tasks effectively.
Train team members on documentation, safety, and inventory practices.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong understanding of construction materials and site operations.
Proficiency in inventory management software and MS Excel.
Good organizational, communication, and record-keeping skills.
Ability to handle pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
Graduate or Diploma in Materials Management / Supply Chain / Engineering.
Minimum 5-8 years of experience in store management at a construction or real estate site.
