The Store Manager will oversee day?to?day operations of assigned SpeedX retail outlets in Mumbai, ensuring smooth store administration, accurate inventory control, high?impact merchandising, and outstanding customer experience. This role is hands?on with strong involvement in sales operations and cross?functional coordination (Supply Chain, Accounts, Design/Production, and Customer Support) to consistently achieve revenue, margin, and service targets.
Key Responsibilities1) Store Operations & Administration
Own daily store opening/closing, cash handling, and shift rosters.
Ensure SOP compliance for hygiene, safety, visual standards, and statutory displays.
Monitor store maintenance, utilities, and AMC/vendor service schedules.
Implement loss?prevention controls (audits, gate pass, stock movement records).
2) Inventory, Replenishment & Merchandising
Maintain optimal stock levels; plan replenishment based on sell?through and seasonality.
Perform GRN, stock transfers, RTV/RTS, and monthly/quarterly cycle counts.
Coordinate with central warehouse/production for dispatches and product availability.
Execute planograms, VM standards, and product storytelling to drive conversion.
3) Sales Operations & Customer Experience
Drive store KPIs: footfall conversion, ATV/UPT, cross?sell/upsell, and repeat purchase.
Lead local promotions, product demos, and community/partner activations.
Resolve escalations with speed; capture VOC and implement service improvements.
Ensure accurate POS billing, discount controls, and GST invoicing compliance.
4) People Leadership
Recruit (where applicable), onboard, train, and coach store teams on SOPs and sales skills.
Set daily targets, run briefings, and conduct weekly performance reviews.
Build a high?ownership, service?first culture; manage shift planning and attendance.
Identify training gaps and coordinate with HR/L&D for programs.
5) Reporting & Compliance
Submit daily/weekly sales, stock, and shrinkage reports; analyze trends and actions.
Maintain documentation: cash/expense logs, vendor bills, petty cash, audit checklists.
Ensure compliance with legal/statutory norms (GST, local store permits, FSSAI if applicable).
Support internal/external audits and implement corrective actions.
6) Cross?Functional Coordination
Liaise with Supply Chain for replenishment & inter?store transfers.
Work with Accounts for invoices, settlements, and reconciliations.
Coordinate with Marketing for local campaigns, signage, and collaterals.
Interface with Design/Production for product availability, custom orders, or repairs.
Collaborate with Customer Support for after?sales service and feedback loops.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Sales target achievement (% to plan) and LFL growth.
Conversion rate, ATV (Average Transaction Value), UPT (Units per Transaction).
Stock accuracy, shrinkage %, and inventory turns.
Customer satisfaction/NPS and complaint resolution TAT.
SOP audit scores and compliance closure rates.
Team productivity, training completion, and attrition.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree preferred; Diploma in Retail/Operations is a plus.
4-7 years of retail operations experience with at least 2 years managing a store/team.
Experience handling multi?store coordination in Mumbai is strongly preferred.
Familiarity with POS/ERP tools and retail reporting.
Skills & Competencies
Strong ownership, problem?solving, and on?ground execution.
Data?driven with comfort in Excel/Google Sheets and MIS reporting.
Merchandising acumen and customer?centric mindset.
Team leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution.
Excellent communication in English and Hindi/Marathi.
Tools/Systems Exposure (Preferred)
POS systems, barcode scanners, and digital payment platforms.
ERP/WMS for stock management; ticketing tools for service requests.
Basic CRM usage for follow?ups and remarketing.
Work Schedule & Mobility
6?day working; weekends/holidays as per retail calendar.
Willingness to travel across stores within Mumbai for audits, training, or activations.
