Job Description

The Pet Shop Store Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the pet store, ensuring a high level of customer service, managing staff, maintaining inventory, and ensuring the health and well-being of animals in the store. The manager also ensures that the store meets sales goals, complies with legal and safety standards, and provides a clean, welcoming environment for customers and their pets.

Key Responsibilities:Store Operations

Oversee all aspects of daily store operations including opening and closing procedures. Ensure a clean, organized, and welcoming store environment. Enforce company policies, procedures, and standards.

Customer Service

Deliver outstanding service to customers and resolve any complaints or issues promptly. Educate customers on pet care, products, and services. Promote and upsell products and services effectively.

Staff Management

Train, schedule, and supervise store staff. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching. Foster a positive team culture and ensure a safe work environment.

Animal Care

Ensure animals are cared for according to health and welfare standards. Monitor animal inventory, including feeding, grooming, and veterinary needs. Maintain accurate animal care and sales records.

Inventory and Merchandising

Manage stock levels, order supplies, and ensure proper merchandising of products. Conduct regular inventory checks and minimize shrinkage. Coordinate with vendors and suppliers as needed.

Sales and Financials

Meet or exceed store sales and profitability goals. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on sales, expenses, and inventory. Handle cash, budgeting, and banking duties as required.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; degree in business, retail management, or a related field preferred. 2+ years of retail management experience, preferably in a pet-related environment. Strong knowledge of pet care, nutrition, and animal welfare. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

Comfortable working around animals of various types and sizes. Standing and walking for extended periods.

Pay: ?25,000.00 - ?30,000.00 per month
