such as product storytelling zones, sampling counters, and gift/hamper sections
Business Attraction & Promotions
Plan and execute
in-store and local promotions
aligned with tourist seasons and festivals
Collaborate with local tourism bodies, hotels, and travel operators for cross-promotions
Develop promotional campaigns to increase footfall, impulse buying, and brand recall
Workforce Planning & Alignment
Assess manpower needs based on store size, footfall, and seasonality
Recruit, train, and schedule staff to align with peak tourist periods
Build a customer-centric and sales-driven team culture
Sales Training & Capability Building
Conduct regular training on
FPO products, product storytelling, and customer engagement
Train staff on upselling, cross-selling, and conversion techniques suited for tourist customers
Monitor team performance and provide ongoing coaching
Budgeting & Financial Control
Prepare and manage store-level budgets including staffing, marketing, utilities, and operational expenses
Monitor costs and ensure optimal utilization of resources
Coordinate with finance for expense approvals, reporting, and reconciliations
Sales Planning & Business Forecasting
Develop
sales forecasts
based on tourist footfall trends, seasonality, and local market potential
Track KPIs such as footfall, conversion ratio, average ticket size, and inventory turnover
Analyze performance data and implement corrective actions to achieve targets
Inventory & Vendor (FPO) Management
Plan and manage inventory for FPO-based products with a focus on freshness, shelf life, and demand cycles
Coordinate with FPOs for timely replenishment and quality compliance
Minimize wastage, pilferage, and stock obsolescence
Reporting & Compliance
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly business and operational reports
Ensure compliance with food safety, statutory, and company policies
Act as the primary point of contact between store, FPO partners, and head office
Qualifications & Experience
Graduate/Postgraduate in Retail Management, Business Administration, or related field
5-8 years of experience in retail/store management, preferably in food, agri-products, or local specialty retail
Proven experience in
setting up stores from scratch
Exposure to FPO-based products or agri-value chain will be an added advantage
