Summary: are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Assistant Manager - Stores to manage the storage, inventory, and material handling operations at our furniture manufacturing unit. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate stock management, timely material issuance, and adherence to company policies related to inventory control and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
o Maintain accurate stock records of raw materials, components, consumables, and finished goods.
o Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement for replenishment.
Material Handling:
o Ensure proper storage, labeling, stacking, and preservation of materials.
o Oversee the receiving, inspection, and dispatch of goods.
System & Documentation:
o Update inventory data in ERP or store management systems regularly.
o Maintain GRNs, MRNs, issue slips, delivery challans, and other store documents.
Stock Audits & Reporting:
o Conduct regular physical stock verification and cycle counts.
o Identify and report variances and support in monthly/yearly audits.
Team Supervision:
o Supervise storekeepers, helpers, and material handlers to ensure smooth operations.
o Train store personnel on inventory procedures and safety guidelines.
Coordination:
o Work closely with the production, purchase, QA, and dispatch departments.
o Support just-in-time material availability for production requirements.
Compliance & Safety:
o Ensure compliance with safety, housekeeping, and FIFO/LIFO inventory practices.
o Maintain records in line with internal audit and ISO requirements.
Qualifications & Skills:
Graduate or Diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics, Commerce, or relevant field
4-7 years of experience in store operations, preferably in a furniture or manufacturing setup
Hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Tally)
Strong understanding of warehouse procedures, material classification, and inventory norms
Good knowledge of stocktaking, documentation, and statutory compliance
Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
