The Store Manager is responsible for effective management of raw materials, inventory control, storage, safety, documentation, and coordination with project teams to ensure uninterrupted project execution and compliance with quality and company standards.
Key Responsibilities1. Inventory Management
Oversee receipt, storage, and issuance of raw materials as per approved procedures.
Maintain accurate inventory records in ERP/manual systems.
Ensure optimal inventory levels to avoid shortages or excess stock.
Conduct regular stock audits, cycle counts, and reconciliation to minimize discrepancies.
2. Quality Control
Inspect incoming raw materials to ensure compliance with defined quality standards.
Coordinate with the Quality Assurance team for handling non-conforming or rejected materials.
Ensure proper labeling, batch identification, and documentation for material traceability.
3. Storage & Safety Management
Ensure appropriate storage conditions for materials based on type, sensitivity, and safety requirements.
Implement and enforce safety guidelines for handling hazardous, fragile, or perishable materials.
Maintain a clean, organized, and well-identified store area in line with safety norms.
4. Coordination with Project Teams
Coordinate closely with project departments to ensure timely issuance of materials.
Proactively address material shortages or delays that may impact project schedules.
Manage material transfers between departments, warehouses, and project sites efficiently.
5. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate records of material receipts, issues, returns, and stock levels.
Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly inventory and consumption reports.
Ensure compliance with company policies, audit requirements, and statutory regulations related to inventory control.
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of inventory management and store operations
Attention to detail and strong documentation skills
Good coordination and communication abilities
Understanding of safety and quality standards
Proficiency in ERP systems / MS Excel
Qualification & Experience
Graduate / Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, or relevant field
5-8 years of experience in store or inventory management (preferably in projects / engineering industry)
