The Store Manager will be responsible for managing all material inventory, receipts, issuing, record keeping, and coordination at the construction site. The role ensures proper control of materials, timely availability, documentation accuracy, and smooth support to site execution teams.
Key Responsibilities1. Material Receipt & Verification
Receive materials as per PO/Challan and verify quantity, specifications, and quality.
Check materials against delivery challan, invoice, and PO terms.
Prepare GRN (Goods Receipt Note) for every received material.
2. Material Storage & Handling
Ensure proper storage of cement, steel, shuttering, aggregates, pipes, fittings, and consumables.
Maintain material stacking, labeling, and safety of items.
Implement FIFO (First In First Out) for cement and perishable materials.
3. Material Issuance & Tracking
Issue materials to site engineers, supervisors, and contractors as per approved request/slip.
Maintain daily issue register for steel, cement, shuttering, consumables, and tools.
Monitor consumption and prevent misuse/wastage.
4. Inventory Management
Maintain accurate stock register (manual + digital).
Conduct weekly and monthly stock audits.
Ensure minimum/maximum stock levels are maintained to avoid shortages.
5. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain:
Material In/Out Register
Daily Stock Register
Tools & Machinery Register
Returnable/Non-returnable materials record
Contractor material issue records
Submit daily/weekly stock reports to Project Manager/HO.
6. Coordination
Coordinate with Purchase Team for material requirements.
Inform management about slow-moving or excess stock.
Assist in vendor coordination for timely delivery.
7. Tools & Machinery Control
Track usage and servicing of tools/equipment like vibrators, cutters, mixers, shuttering plates, etc.
Maintain record of issued tools and ensure proper returns.
8. Compliance & Safety
Ensure safe handling of hazardous materials (chemicals, admixtures, fuels).
Maintain cleanliness and safety in the storage area.
Follow company policies for material management.
Experience & Eligibility
Graduate / Diploma (Civil preferred).
Experience: Minimum 3-7 years
in civil construction stores management.
Knowledge of construction materials, tools, and inventory processes.
Experience with Excel, inventory software, and stock registers.
