Job Description

To manage and oversee all activities related to the stores, inventory, and distribution of construction materials, tools, and equipment for the national highway project site, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to quality, safety, and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:



1. Store Operations & Inventory Management:



Maintain accurate inventory of all incoming and outgoing materials (cement, steel, aggregates, etc.) Ensure proper storage methods to prevent damage, deterioration, or loss. Implement FIFO (First-In-First-Out) and LIFO (Last-In-First-Out) systems as per material requirement. Ensure availability of critical materials to avoid project delays.

2. Material Receiving & Inspection:



Supervise unloading and verification of materials against purchase orders/delivery challans. Coordinate with the Quality team for inspection and approval of received goods. Tag and label all approved materials and update inventory records accordingly.

3. Documentation & Reporting:



Maintain stock registers, GRNs (Goods Receipt Notes), MRNs (Material Requisition Notes), and issue slips. Generate daily, weekly, and monthly stock reports for project management.

4. Stock Audit:



Ensure timely reconciliation of physical stock with system records.

5. Coordination:



Coordinate with Procurement, Accounts, Quality Control, and Execution teams for smooth material flow. Liaise with suppliers and transporters for timely delivery and documentation.

6. Compliance & Safety:



Ensure all store operations comply with safety standards and statutory requirements. Maintain fire safety equipment and cleanliness in the store yard.

7. Team Management:



Supervise storekeepers, helpers, and store assistants. Allocate tasks and provide training on store practices, ERP software (if applicable), and safety.

Required Qualifications:



Education:

Any Bachelor's degree, Logistics, or Materials Management.

Experience:

Minimum 12-15 years in store management, preferably in road/highway/infrastructure projects.

Skills:



Knowledge of construction materials (especially highway-related) Familiarity with inventory software (SAP, ERP, MS Excel) Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to handle high-volume materials and multi-location sites

Desirable Qualities:



Experience in NHAI or MoRTH projects Understanding of quality standards and documentation requirements for highway projects Ability to work in remote site conditions under pressure
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
