The Stores Keeper will oversee the efficient management of raw materials (RM) and scrap within the facility. Their primary responsibilities include managing RM inward and issue, maintaining consumption details, reporting daily stock movements, and coordinating the removal of scrap with vendors. They will also ensure the timely publishing of daily reports detailing stock levels, RM usage, scrap generated, and scrap sold.
Key Responsibilities
Raw Material Management
Accept inward deliveries of raw materials, verify quantities against invoices or delivery notes, and ensure proper documentation.
Issue raw materials to the shop floor as per production requirements and maintain accurate records.
Monitor and maintain daily opening and closing stock levels of raw materials, ensuring data accuracy.
Scrap Management
Track and record scrap generated during production processes.
Coordinate with approved scrap vendors to ensure timely removal of scrap from the facility.
Maintain detailed records of scrap sold, including quantities and revenue generated.
Reporting and Documentation
Prepare and publish daily reports, including:
Opening and closing stock of raw materials.
Raw material consumed.
Scrap generated and sold.
Ensure all documentation is accurate and readily available for audits or management review.
Inventory Control and Coordination
Maintain an organized and clean stores area to facilitate smooth operations.
Work closely with production, quality, and procurement teams to ensure optimal material availability and utilization.
Proactively identify and address any discrepancies in inventory records.
Qualifications
diploma or degree; additional certification in inventory management or warehouse operations is a plus.
2-3 years of experience in stores/warehouse management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in MS Excel and inventory management software.
Familiarity with raw materials and scrap handling processes.
