The Storekeeper is responsible for the efficient management and maintenance of the organization's storeroom. This role ensures accurate inventory control, proper storage of materials, timely procurement, and compliance with organizational procedures.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Receive all incoming materials and verify them against approved purchase orders
Identify, document, and resolve discrepancies in received materials
Maintain accurate inventory records by updating receipts, issues, adjustments, and returns
Monitor stock levels and ensure inventory remains within approved minimum and maximum limits
Maintain up-to-date records of stock receipts, issues, and balances
Pack, label, price, and prepare materials for issue or return as required
Ensure proper stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO) and coordinate disposal of obsolete or surplus items
Oversee freight handling, internal movement of materials, and minor equipment handling/repairs
Manage supplier information and maintain professional, ethical relationships with vendors and internal departments
Prepare purchase requisitions and purchase orders; use purchasing cards for low-value procurement where authorized
Arrange return shipments for cancelled, excess, or damaged materials to suppliers
Ensure storeroom cleanliness, safety, and compliance with company policies and statutory requirements

Support internal and external audits
Assist in annual and cycle stock verification
Coordinate with production, maintenance, and finance departments
