Responsible for the effective management of all mechanical materials, tools, and consumables at the project site. The role includes receiving, inspecting, and recording incoming materials as per purchase orders and delivery challans, ensuring proper storage, identification, and preservation of items such as structural steel, pipes, fittings, valves, fasteners, welding consumables, and spare parts. The store keeper maintains accurate stock registers, bin cards, and inventory records, issues materials against approved requisitions, and tracks daily consumption to avoid shortages or overstocking. Coordination with the project, procurement, and QA/QC teams is essential for timely material availability, reconciliation, and reporting. The store keeper is also responsible for maintaining housekeeping and safety within the store area, preventing material damage or loss, supporting audits, and ensuring compliance with project procedures and client requirements.
