maintaining accurate records, ensuring the store is organized and safe, and coordinating with other departments to meet project needs.
Inventory and stock management
Receive and inspect all incoming materials against purchase orders and delivery notes, GRN,
Maintain accurate records of all stock, including receipts, withdrawals, and current levels.
Perform regular stock checks and physical verification to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Monitor stock levels and initiate purchase requisitions for replenishment when needed, and advise when stock is nearing its maximum limit.
Storage and organization
Arrange and store materials in designated, organized locations, ensuring they are properly labeled for easy access.
Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe storage area in compliance with safety regulations.
Safeguard inventory from damage, theft, or other issues by implementing security measures.
Issuing and distribution
Issue materials, tools, and equipment to construction crews or other departments based on authorized requisitions.
Verify that indents are correct before issuing items.
Coordinate the packing and shipment of materials when necessary.
Documentation and reporting
Maintain essential documentation such as logbooks, entry/exit registers, and delivery/dispatch records.
Ensure all transactions are accurately recorded in the appropriate registers.
Assist with generating reports on stock levels and material movement.
Collaboration and compliance
Collaborate with project managers, procurement teams, and other departments to ensure the timely availability of necessary supplies.
Inspect incoming and outgoing materials for quality and compliance with project specifications and safety regulations.
Material Receipt & Inspection
Receive materials as per purchase orders and delivery challans.
Check for quantity, quality, and specifications of items received.
Prepare Goods Received Notes (GRN) and update stock records in software.
Report any shortages, damages, or mismatches to the procurement/operations team.
Material Storage & Handling
Properly store materials such as plywood, laminates, veneers, MDF, hardware, paint, fittings, and accessories.
Tag and label materials for easy identification.
Maintain proper stacking and space utilization to ensure safety and accessibility.
Material Issuance & Dispatch
Issue materials as per material requisition forms (MRFs) or project schedules.
Maintain records for all material movements (inward/outward/returns).
Coordinate dispatch to project sites and ensure timely delivery.
Stock Control & Reporting
Update stock registers/ERP system daily.
Conduct periodic stock verification and reconcile with system data.
Track material consumption project-wise and report shortages or excesses.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports for management.
Store Upkeep & Safety
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the store area.
Follow proper safety standards and ensure fire and damage prevention.
Regularly check material condition (avoid moisture, rust, or pest damage).
Coordination
Liaise with purchase, accounts, and project teams for smooth material flow.
Coordinate with vendors and transporters for material delivery and returns.
Support site teams in material planning and forecasting.
Skills & Competencies:
Knowledge of
interior/furniture materials
(plywood, laminates, hardware, paints, etc.)
Proficiency in
MS Excel / ERP / Tally
for inventory management
Strong attention to detail and record-keeping accuracy
Good communication and coordination skills
Time management and organizational ability
Candidates from Construction and Engineering Industry are required along with 3-4 years experience in similar industry.
Qualifications:
Graduate / Diploma in Commerce, Logistics, or related field
2-5 years of experience in
store/inventory management
(preferably interiors, furniture, or fit-out industry)
