Key Responsibilities
Material Management:
Oversee the receiving, storage, and issuance of all construction materials, equipment, and tools at the project site.
Inventory Control:
Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all materials, including physical inventory, receipts, adjustments, and returns,
Quality and Quantity Assurance:
Inspect incoming materials to ensure they meet specified quality, quantity, and condition standards, reconciling with purchase orders.
Stocking and Organization:
Properly store and arrange materials for easy identification, access, and handling, employing appropriate preservation methods to prevent damage.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain logs, registers (e.g., Material Receipt Register, Delivery & Dispatch Register), and other required documentation for all material transactions. Prepare monthly store reconciliation statements.
Coordination:
Liaise with the purchasing department and internal teams (e.g., site management) to ensure timely delivery of materials and address any discrepancies.
Safety and Maintenance:
Ensure a safe working environment within the store, implementing proper safety measures for materials, personnel, and the store facility itself.
Wastage Reduction:
Implement strategies and maintain processes to reduce material wastage and loss.
