Job Description

A manufacturing store incharge is responsible for managing the daily operations of the store, including receiving, storing, and issuing raw materials and finished goods, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring a safe and organized stockroom environment. Key duties include coordinating with suppliers, tracking stock levels, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality control procedures.

Key responsibilities

Inventory management:

Oversee all aspects of inventory, including receiving, stocking, and issuing materials to production. This includes maintaining accurate records using computerized systems and physical checks.

Stock control:

Ensure stock levels are adequate and implement strategies to minimize waste, such as adhering to FIFO (First-In, First-Out) principles.

Supplier coordination:

Liaise with suppliers for timely delivery of materials, check goods against purchase orders and invoices, and handle discrepancies.

Documentation:

Generate and manage all necessary documentation, including goods received notes (GRN) and delivery challans, and maintain inward/outward registers.

Quality control:

Ensure that only inspected and accepted materials are taken into stock and that issued materials meet production requirements.

Safety and organization:

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe store environment in compliance with company and government regulations.

Reporting:

Prepare regular reports on stock levels, material movement, and any other inventory-related issues for management.
Required skills and qualifications

Experience:

Proven experience in a storekeeping or similar role, preferably within a manufacturing, mechanical, or automobile industry.

Technical skills:

Proficiency in using computerized systems for inventory control.

Organizational skills:

Strong ability to organize and manage store layout and stock efficiently.

Communication:

Ability to effectively communicate with internal departments (like production and quality control) and external suppliers.

Knowledge:

Familiarity with different types of materials (e.g., raw, packing, engineering items) is often required.
