Job Summary
The Store Keeper is responsible for the efficient and accurate management of all incoming and outgoing goods within the automotive store.1 This role involves maintaining a well-organized inventory, ensuring proper documentation, and supporting the smooth flow of parts and materials to meet production and service demands.2
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management:
o Maintain an organized and tidy store layout to ensure easy access to all parts and materials.
o Perform regular stock counts and perpetual inventory checks to ensure accuracy.
o Monitor stock levels and re-order points to prevent shortages or overstocking.4
Receiving and Dispatching:
o Receive incoming goods, verify them against delivery notes and purchase orders, and inspect for any damage or defects.5
o Accurately record all incoming and outgoing stock in the inventory management system.6
o Prepare and pack parts for dispatch to various departments
o Ensure all necessary documentation (e.g., GRN - Goods Receipt Note, material issue slips) is completed accurately.
Documentation and Reporting:
o Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all inventory transactions.8
o Generate regular reports on stock levels, consumption rates, and stock movement.9
o Assist in preparing reports for audits and management reviews.
Operational Support:
o Ensure all safety protocols and procedures are followed within the store.10
o Coordinate with different departments (e.g., Production, Maintenance, Sales) to fulfil their material requirements in a timely manner.11
o Operate store equipment, such as forklifts or pallet jacks, if required and certified.
