in a manufacturing setup. The role involves handling inventory, receiving and issuing materials, maintaining stock records, and ensuring timely availability of items required for production.
Receive incoming materials (raw materials, consumables, components) and verify against purchase orders.
Issue materials to production or maintenance teams as per Material Requisition Slips (MRS).
Maintain accurate inventory records in registers or ERP/software.
Conduct daily/weekly/monthly physical stock verification.
Documentation & Recordkeeping:
Prepare Goods Receipt Notes (GRN), Issue Slips, and Material Return Notes.
Maintain proper records of stock inward/outward, damaged goods, and rejections.
Assist in preparing reports like stock status, slow-moving items, and minimum stock alerts.
Coordination & Communication:
Coordinate with purchase, production, quality, and accounts departments for timely material flow.
Follow up with vendors or transporters in case of material delays or issues.
Inform the supervisor of shortages, excesses, or damages immediately.
Compliance & Safety:
Ensure proper labelling, storage, and stacking of materials.
Maintain cleanliness and safety in the store area.
Follow FIFO (First In First Out) and other inventory best practices.
Requirements:
Minimum qualification: 10+2 or ITI; Diploma in Stores/Inventory/Logistics preferred.
1-3 years of experience in a store or warehouse function in a manufacturing company.
Basic knowledge of inventory systems, stock handling, and storekeeping procedures.
Familiar with MS Excel, stock register entries, and ERP software (Tally, SAP, etc.).
Good organizational and communication skills.
