Manage and oversee the operations of the company's stores department, including raw materials, finished goods, and other supplies.
Maintain accurate inventory records, ensuring timely and accurate tracking of material movement.
Coordinate with other departments, including purchasing, production, and sales, to ensure smooth material flow and optimal inventory levels.
Implement and maintain inventory control systems and procedures to minimize waste, spoilage, and obsolescence.
Conduct periodic physical inventory checks and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
Supervise and train store staff, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
Specific Duties:
Inventory Management:
Plan and execute material requirements planning (MRP) to ensure sufficient materials are available for production.
Monitor inventory levels, identify potential shortages, and place timely purchase orders.
Manage stock rotations to prevent obsolescence and spoilage.
Material Handling:
Oversee the receipt, storage, and handling of all materials, ensuring proper packaging, labeling, and storage practices.
Manage material movement within the plant, ensuring efficient and safe transport of materials.
Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of all inventory transactions, including receipts, issues, and adjustments.
Prepare and analyze inventory reports, tracking consumption rates, stock turnover, and other key performance indicators.
Coordination:
Work closely with the purchasing department to ensure timely and cost-effective material procurement.
Coordinate with the production department to ensure sufficient raw materials are available for production.
Work with the sales department to ensure adequate stock levels of finished goods.
Quality Control:
Inspect incoming materials for quality and ensure they meet specifications.
Handle any defective or damaged materials according to company procedures.
Cost Reduction:
Identify and implement cost-saving measures in inventory management, such as optimizing storage space, reducing waste, and negotiating better prices with suppliers.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in inventory management, preferably in a manufacturing or processing environment.
Strong understanding of inventory control systems and practices.
Proficiency in using inventory management software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience in a glass processing industry is a plus.
