As a Stores Assistant in our hotel, you will play a vital role in supporting the smooth operation of the hotel's inventory management and procurement processes. You will be responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing goods, as well as maintaining accurate records of stock levels. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will contribute to ensuring that the hotel's various departments have the supplies they need to deliver exceptional service to our guests.
Responsibilities:
Receive deliveries of goods and verify the accuracy of quantities and quality.
Properly store items in designated locations, ensuring that perishable items are handled according to safety standards.
Maintain accurate records of stock levels, including electronic inventory systems and manual logs.
Monitor inventory levels and communicate with the purchasing department to reorder supplies as needed.
Assist in conducting regular stock counts and reconciling discrepancies.
Prepare requisition orders for approved items and process them in a timely manner.
Ensure that all storage areas are kept clean, organized, and free from hazards.
Handle internal requests for supplies from various hotel departments, prioritizing urgent requests.
Assist in conducting regular inspections of perishable items to prevent waste and spoilage.
Follow all hotel policies and procedures related to safety, security, and sanitation.
Collaborate with other departments, such as Housekeeping and Food & Beverage, to fulfill their inventory needs.
Assist with the disposal of expired or damaged items in accordance with hotel policies and regulations.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
Familiarity with inventory management systems and procedures.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Knowledge of safety and sanitation guidelines for handling food and perishable items (preferred).
