Job Description

1. ERP Systems & Digital Workflow

Inventory Control:

Maintaining minimum/maximum stock levels and using

Reorder Level (ROL)

alerts to prevent production delays.

2. Industrial Hardware Knowledge

You must identify and manage a vast range of components used in fabrication:

Fasteners:

Nuts, bolts (high-tensile, stainless steel), washers, rivets, and dowel pins.

Transmission & Motion:

Bearings (ball/roller), pulleys, belts, gears, and chains.

Pneumatic/Hydraulic:

Valves, NPT/MNPT fittings, O-rings, and seals.

Tools:

Grinding wheels, welding electrodes (MIG/TIG wires), and drill bits.

Materials:

Managing sheet metal, pipes, and structural profiles (steel, iron, brass

Billing, Invoices, & Documentation

Accuracy in documentation ensures financial and legal compliance:

Invoices:

Verifying that received quantities match the supplier's tax invoice and purchase order (PO).

Delivery Challan (DC):

Used for material movement where a formal sale hasn't occurred, such as sending items for temporary work or transferring between sites.

RGP Clearing & Gate Passes

The management of materials leaving the premises is critical for cost control:

Returnable Gate Pass (RGP):

Used for items sent out for repair, calibration, or job work (e.g., sending a motor for rewinding).

Clearing Process:

You must track these items until they return. Once the repaired material is received, the RGP is "cleared" in the ERP by matching the incoming DC with the original outward entry.

Non-Returnable Gate Pass (NRGP):

Issued for scrap, rejected material, or sold items that will not return to the factory.

Accountability:

Store assistants typically prepare monthly reports on "Pending RGPs" to ensure company assets aren't lost at vendor sites.
