Job Summary

The Assistant Store Manager - Backend is responsible for managing all back-end operations such as inventory control, stock receiving, warehouse management, documentation, and coordination with vendors and sales teams. This role ensures efficient stock flow from warehouse to store floor and supports the Store Manager in overall operational excellence.

Key ResponsibilitiesA. Inventory & Stock Management

Oversee daily stock receipt, verification, and documentation. Ensure accurate GRN (Goods Received Note) and stock entry into system. Maintain proper stockroom organization, tagging, and labeling. Conduct regular inventory checks, cycle counts, and audits. Monitor stock levels and communicate shortages or overstock situations. Coordinate with procurement for timely replenishment.

B. Warehouse/Back Store Operations

Ensure cleanliness, safety, and proper storage conditions in backstore/warehouse. Supervise loading/unloading activities. Manage material movement from warehouse to shop floor. Ensure FIFO/FEFO principles are followed.

C. Documentation & System Management

Maintain stock records, inward-outward registers, and audit reports. Update inventory management systems (POS/ERP). Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly backend reports. Maintain vendor delivery documents, invoices, and discrepancy reports.

D. Coordination

Coordinate with Store Manager, Sales Team, and Procurement Team. Communicate stock availability to front-end staff. Assist in planning product display requirements by ensuring stock readiness.

E. Team Supervision

Supervise backend staff, helpers, and warehouse assistants. Guide team in backend SOPs, safety protocols, and stock handling standards. Ensure compliance with company backend operation policies.

F. Loss Prevention

Monitor shrinkage, damaged items, and stock discrepancies. Report suspicious activities or losses immediately. Implement preventive measures for stock protection.

Qualifications & Experience

Graduate preferred (Commerce/Management/Supply Chain) 1-3 years of experience in backend/store operations Experience in retail, warehouse, logistics, or FMCG preferred
