to support the efficient management of materials, tools, and equipment at the site or central store. The Store Assistant will assist in receiving, issuing, and recording materials while maintaining accuracy, safety, and cleanliness in the store area.
Key Responsibilities:
Material Handling & Stock Management:
Receive incoming materials, tools, and consumables, verifying
quantities, specifications, and quality
against delivery challans or purchase orders.
Ensure
proper storage, labeling, and arrangement
of materials for easy identification and retrieval.
Assist in
issuing materials
to various site teams as per approved requisitions.
Maintain
stock records
manually and/or in computer systems (Excel or ERP).
Conduct
periodic stock counts and inventory reconciliation
with the Store Keeper.
Documentation & Reporting:
Prepare and maintain
Goods Receipt Notes (GRN), Material Issue Slips (MIS), and stock registers
.
Assist in generating
daily/weekly/monthly stock and consumption reports
.
Report
shortages, damages, or discrepancies
in materials to the Store In-Charge immediately.
Coordination:
Coordinate with the
procurement, accounts, and site departments
to ensure timely documentation and issue of materials.
Help manage the
return of unused or excess materials
from the site.
Safety & Housekeeping:
Follow
safety and housekeeping standards
in the store area.
Ensure
proper handling, stacking, and storage
of materials to prevent damage or accidents.
Keep the store area clean, organized, and secure at all times.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
10+2 / ITI / Diploma (preferred: Diploma in Material Management or related field).
Experience:
1-4 years of experience in
storekeeping, material handling, or inventory management
, preferably in construction or manufacturing.
Technical Skills:
Basic knowledge of
inventory control methods and material types
.
Proficiency in
MS Excel / ERP or inventory software
.
Understanding of
material documentation and store procedures
.
Soft Skills:
Strong organizational and record-keeping abilities.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Attention to detail and integrity in handling materials.
