The Store Assistant will be responsible for managing material storage and inventory at the construction site and coordinating with the Purchase Manager at the Head Office to ensure timely procurement and availability of materials.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive, inspect, and record incoming materials at the construction site.
Maintain proper storage, labelling, and safety of construction materials.
Issue materials as per site requirements and maintain daily stock registers.
Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or excess stock.
Coordinate with the Purchase Manager regarding material requirements, delivery schedules, and discrepancies.
Visit the Head Office as required for purchase coordination and documentation.
Maintain records such as GRNs, delivery challans, and material issue slips.
Support periodic stock audits and reconciliations.
Ensure compliance with company policies and site procedures.
Requirements:
Diploma or relevant qualification preferred.
Previous experience as a Store Assistant / Store Keeper in construction projects is an advantage.
Basic knowledge of inventory management and construction materials.
Ability to coordinate effectively with site staff and head office teams.
Basic computer skills (MS Excel, inventory systems).
Willingness to travel between site and head office as required.
