Job Description

The Stores Assistant supports the efficient operation of the hotel's inventory and stores department. This role is responsible for receiving, storing, and issuing goods, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring proper stock levels for all departments. The Stores Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the hotel's food & beverage, housekeeping, engineering, and other operations through timely and accurate supply of goods.

Key Responsibilities :



Receiving & Inspection



Receive deliveries of goods and materials from suppliers. Check the quantity and quality of received items against purchase orders and delivery notes. Report any discrepancies or damaged goods to the Storekeeper or Purchasing Department.

Storage & Inventory Management



Properly label, store, and arrange goods in designated storage areas according to hotel standards. Ensure that storage areas are clean, organized, and compliant with hygiene and safety standards. Maintain accurate stock records using inventory management systems or manual logs.

Issuing of Materials



Issue items to various departments based on approved requisitions. Record stock movements accurately in the system. Ensure timely delivery of requested items to departments like kitchen, housekeeping, engineering, etc.

Stock Monitoring & Reporting



Conduct regular stock counts (daily/weekly/monthly) and assist in full inventory audits. Identify and report slow-moving, excess, or near-expiry stock. Assist in maintaining optimum stock levels and prevent stockouts or overstocking.

Coordination & Communication



Coordinate with the Purchasing Department to replenish stock when levels fall below the minimum. Communicate with department heads to understand their material requirements. Follow up with suppliers or the purchasing team on pending deliveries.

Compliance & Safety



Ensure compliance with hotel policies and food safety standards (HACCP where applicable). Monitor expiry dates, especially for perishable goods, and ensure FIFO (First In, First Out) method is followed. Handle chemicals, fragile, or hazardous items according to safety protocols.

Qualifications:



High school diploma or equivalent; certification in stores/inventory management is an advantage. 1-2 years of experience in a storekeeping or inventory role, preferably in the hotel or hospitality industry. Familiarity with inventory management systems and basic computer skills. Physical ability to lift and move heavy goods. Attention to detail, organizational skills, and integrity. Good communication and teamwork skills.

Desirable Attributes:



Knowledge of food handling and storage standards (especially in F&B stores). Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple requests efficiently. Flexible to work in shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

Pay: ?15,000.00 - ?18,000.00 per month
