The candidate will manage and oversee all activities related to the construction store, including material receipt, storage, issuance, inventory control, and documentation. The ideal candidate should be well-versed in construction materials, have strong organizational skills, and ensure efficient store operations aligned with project timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Material Management:
Receive, inspect, and verify materials delivered to the site.
Ensure proper documentation (delivery notes, invoices, GRNs).
Organize materials systematically for easy identification and retrieval.
Maintain minimum and maximum stock levels.
Inventory Control:
Maintain accurate stock records (manual or ERP-based).
Conduct periodic physical stock verification and reconciliation.
Track usage of materials and prevent wastage or misuse.
Report stock levels regularly to the project/procurement team.
Issuance & Dispatch:
Issue materials to engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors as per requisition slips.
Record material issuance in stock register/software.
Coordinate the dispatch of unused or surplus material to central stores.
Safety & Compliance:
Ensure safe storage and handling of hazardous or valuable items.
Maintain housekeeping of store area to prevent accidents or loss.
Ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards.
Reporting & Documentation:
Prepare daily/weekly/monthly store reports (receipts, consumption, stock).
Handle audits and support in resolving discrepancies.
Coordinate with procurement and accounts for timely billing and payments.
