JD - Storage Backup admin
LOCATION: Pune, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai
EXPERIENCE RANGE: 2 - 4 YEARS
DESIRED SKILLS: Storage Backup admin
MUST-HAVE
1.) Open a call with Vendors like EMC, Hitachi, VMware, and VCE, and do follow ups.
2.) Working knowledge of service now.
3.) EMC IDPA monitoring: Number of backups failed, Number of backups completed, Status of
Replication.
4.) EMC IDPA troubleshooting: Troubleshoot any failed backup, if required open a case with Vendor or
other teams like SQL, Exchange, Network, Firewall, and server team.
5.) EMC IDPA Administration: Manage Passwords, Manage Backup clients, Add client into backups,
retire client from backups, installing proxies, configuring proxies and data stores, Managing schedules of
backups, upgrading proxies, upgrading IDPA, Upgrading client agents, restoring both VM level as well as
file level backup, taking backup file level backup, client level backup, Proxies level backup & VMware
backup, Backup of storage and backup devices, Create new datasets, schedules, retention policies on
demand, taking on demand backup.
6.) EMC Avamar and Data domain DR management: Managing Avamar, Upgrading Avamar and data
domain, Managing DR solution, Managing replication, taking backup of clients in Avamar, troubleshooting
any kind of network issue.
7.) Managing storage: Having knowledge of Powerflex storage, HUS-VM, Fabric switches, Allocation of
data store, Extend the data store, delete data store, unmount data store, troubleshoot performance
issue, decommission of storage, decommission of switches, replace the disks, Open a request with
EMC, Take follow up of SR, upgrade the Powerflex storage, Upgrade the Powerflex component
8.) Inter-team communication and collaboration.
9.) Presentation of changes to change board and get approval. Presentation of work performed to
management.
