Job Summary:

Waiter/Steward

is responsible for providing excellent customer service by taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring a pleasant dining experience for guests. The role also includes setting up tables, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting with billing and order processing.

Key Responsibilities:Guest Service & Order Taking:

Greet guests warmly and escort them to their tables. Present menus and provide detailed information about menu items, specials, and recommendations. Take food and beverage orders accurately and relay them to the kitchen.

Food & Beverage Service:

Serve food and drinks promptly and professionally. Ensure proper presentation and correct temperature of food before serving. Refill beverages and attend to guests' needs throughout the dining experience.

Table Setup & Cleanliness:

Prepare and set tables with clean linens, cutlery, glasses, and condiments. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the dining area. Clear tables efficiently after guests leave and reset them for the next seating.

Billing & Payment Handling:

Present bills to guests, process payments, and return change if needed. Handle POS (Point of Sale) systems for order entry and billing.

Customer Interaction & Issue Resolution:

Address guest inquiries, requests, and complaints courteously and professionally. Ensure guest satisfaction and escalate issues to the manager if necessary.

Compliance & Safety:

Follow food safety and hygiene standards. Comply with restaurant/hotel policies and service standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

Prior experience as a waiter, steward, or in customer service (preferred but not mandatory). Good communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of food and beverages, including wine pairing, is a plus. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tables. Basic math skills for billing and order calculation.
