The Steward ensures cleanliness, hygiene, and organization in the kitchen and dining areas. They support chefs and service staff by handling dishwashing, cleaning, waste disposal, and maintaining kitchen equipment, contributing to smooth food & beverage operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Wash, clean, and store dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment properly.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in kitchen, dishwashing area, and storage.
Assist chefs by ensuring required kitchen tools and utensils are clean and available.
Handle waste disposal safely and maintain recycling practices where applicable.
Operate dishwashing machines and handle cleaning chemicals safely.
Report any maintenance issues (broken glassware, malfunctioning machines, leaks, etc.).
Ensure compliance with hotel hygiene and food safety standards.
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for cleaning and storage.
Support banquet, restaurant, and room service operations as required.
Assist in receiving and storing food supplies as directed.
Skills & Qualities Required:
Basic knowledge of kitchen hygiene and safety practices.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Good teamwork and communication skills.
Physical stamina to handle standing and lifting tasks.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Qualifications:
High school pass or equivalent preferred.
Previous experience in stewarding/kitchen operations (advantage but not mandatory).
