Job Description

The Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen and service areas. The role involves washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, ensuring a clean and organized workspace, and assisting the kitchen and service staff as needed to support smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities:



Wash and sanitize all kitchen utensils, cutlery, crockery, glassware, and cooking equipment. Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, walls, storage areas, and service stations. Ensure proper waste segregation and disposal following hygiene and safety standards. Assist in receiving and storing kitchen supplies properly. Support chefs and kitchen staff during busy operations. Ensure all cleaning and sanitation guidelines are followed according to HACCP standards. Operate dishwashing machines safely and efficiently. Report any maintenance issues or broken equipment to the supervisor. Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and report shortages. Follow safety and hygiene protocols at all times.

Qualifications and Skills:



Minimum 10th / 12th pass or equivalent. Prior experience as a steward or utility worker in a hotel or restaurant preferred. Basic understanding of hygiene and sanitation practices. Physically fit to handle cleaning and dishwashing duties. Good teamwork and communication skills. Positive attitude and ability to work under pressure.
