Senior Steward



A Senior Steward's job description involves overseeing daily kitchen utility operations, managing and training junior staff, and ensuring cleanliness and adherence to health and safety standards. Key responsibilities

Staff management:

Supervise, lead, and train junior stewards, assign tasks, and create cleaning schedules.

Operations and cleanliness:

Oversee the daily cleaning of all kitchen areas, including dishwashing, back dock, and equipment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Inventory and supplies:

Monitor and manage the inventory of cleaning supplies, equipment, and stock, and assist with ordering when necessary.

Coordination:

Liaise with other departments, such as kitchen, bar, and service staff, to ensure smooth daily operations and guest satisfaction.

Maintenance:

Identify and report any maintenance or repair needs within the stewarding areas.

Quality control:

Inspect and evaluate cleaning processes and outcomes to maintain high standards.
Qualifications and skills

Experience:

Several years of experience in a stewarding or hospitality role, with a proven track record in a leadership capacity.

Education:

A high school diploma is often the minimum, though a hospitality management degree can be beneficial.

Leadership:

Excellent leadership and team management skills are essential for supervising staff.

Communication:

Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with staff and other departments.

Problem-solving:

The ability to work under pressure and resolve issues efficiently.

Knowledge:
