Job Description

Miri Piri Academy is seeking a passionate and dynamic STEM Teacher for Grades 5-7 to lead integrated learning in science and math. The ideal candidate is an innovator in the classroom, excited by hands-on exploration, real-world applications, and expeditionary learning. You will engage students in multi-disciplinary investigations that draw on fieldwork, expert interviews, and creative inquiry, fostering curiosity and critical thinking across the sciences and mathematics. This is a full-time teaching position in a holistic learning environment that integrates academic rigor with physical, artistic, and spiritual education.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Design and deliver engaging STEM curriculum in Science and Mathematics for Grades 5 to 7, in alignment with the school's learning outcomes and Cambridge-based framework.
Lead expeditionary learning units that encourage inquiry from multiple perspectives. These units should include: ₹ Real-world case studies
Fieldwork experiences in the local environment
Collaboration with visiting or virtual experts in relevant fields
Develop interdisciplinary projects that connect science and math to other subject areas, such as social studies, arts, or environmental studies.
Integrate hands-on labs, experiments, data collection, and engineering challenges that promote exploration, problem-solving, and applied learning.
Use formative and summative assessments to measure growth, provide feedback, and adjust instruction accordingly.
Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that nurtures curiosity, collaboration, and respect for diverse perspectives.
Collaborate with other teachers to align teaching across subjects and coordinate fieldwork or multi-grade projects.
Lead daily meditation inspired by the Kundalini Yoga tradition (training provided).
Foster student self-discipline, responsibility, and respect for community through clear expectations and modeling.
Maintain open communication with families, providing updates on academic progress, challenges, and celebrations.
Actively participate in school life, including community service, and school events.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Education, Science, Mathematics, or a related STEM field.
Experience teaching Science and/or Math to middle school-aged students.
Training or experience in project-based learning, expeditionary learning, or experiential education strongly preferred.
Familiarity with the Cambridge curriculum or other international educational systems is an asset.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Comfort with using technology to enhance student learning.
Commitment to holistic education, including physical, artistic, and spiritual development.
Willingness to lead and learn meditation practices from the Kundalini Yoga tradition (training provided).
Enthusiasm for working in a collaborative, community-centered environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
