Position:
Teacher (temporary, up to five months and renewable)
EduRight Foundation is seeking help with supporting Government schools in rural communities with this position. This is a full-day contract role to provide teaching support in Government schools within marginalized communities. The primary goal is to promote
STEM education
for rural Tamil Nadu. You will be responsible for teaching assigned subjects to higher secondary students and good to have proficiency in
Learning Management Systems (LMS)
such as Google Classroom to facilitate modern, effective teaching methods. Additionally, you will be responsible for providing additional tutoring to prepare students for admissions to higher education/elite institutes in India.
Responsibilities
Teach
assigned science subject(s) (Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, or Mathematics) to higher secondary students.
Prepare
lesson plans, teaching materials, and student assessments aligned with the curriculum.
Conduct
interactive classroom sessions, practical experiments, and demonstrations to enhance learning.
Evaluate
student performance through tests, assignments, and projects, and provide constructive feedback.
Foster
critical thinking, problem-solving, and scientific curiosity among students.
Collaborate
with fellow teachers and school management for academic planning and extracurricular activities.
Ensure
a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
Requirements
Master's Degree from an accredited university in any of the relevant subjects - Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics / Botany / Zoology (required).
B.Ed qualification (preferred).
Freshers and experienced candidates are welcome.
Strong subject knowledge and passion for teaching.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
Commitment to fostering an inclusive and respectful learning environment for all students, with an understanding of and sensitivity to diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
Ability to adapt innovative teaching methodologies.
Proficiency in or willingness to be trained in AI and Learning Management Systems like Google Classroom.
Strong classroom management skills with an emphasis on creating a safe and positive space for all students.
