to join our steel bright bar manufacturing firm. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all finished and in-process materials meet quality standards and customer specifications. This role involves
100% on-field work
, requiring continuous inspection, testing, and verification across all stages of production and dispatch.
Key Responsibilities:1. Raw Material Inspection:
Verify the chemical composition and mechanical properties of incoming raw materials.
Ensure proper tagging and documentation of raw materials.
Conduct visual inspections for defects, rust, or other non-conformities.
2. In-Process Quality Checks:
Conduct regular patrol inspections at different production stages.
Monitor dimensional accuracy, surface finish, straightness, and other quality parameters.
Ensure compliance with process control standards and specifications.
Identify defects such as cracks, bends, or irregularities in bright bars.
Verify color-coding and tagging of materials at every stage.
3. Testing & Measurement:
Perform
Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI)
,
spectro testing
,
tensile testing
,
hardness testing
, and coordinate
ultrasonic testing (UT)
when required.
Use micrometers, vernier calipers, and other measuring instruments to check dimensions.
Maintain records of test results and report deviations.
4. Finished Goods Inspection:
Verify the final quality of bright bars before dispatch.
Ensure packaging is as per customer requirements (oiling, cling wrapping, HDPE woven sacks).
Conduct final approval before shipment to prevent customer rejections.
5. Documentation & Compliance:
Maintain inspection reports, test certificates, and quality logs.
Ensure adherence to internal and customer quality standards.
Report and escalate non-conformities to the quality supervisor.
Assist in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum
2-3 years
in a quality inspection role in the steel industry.
Education:
ITI / Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Metallurgy, or related field.
Technical Knowledge:
Understanding of steel grades, EN series specifications (BS 970-1955 preferred), and testing methods.
Inspection Tools:
Hands-on experience with measuring instruments like micrometers, vernier calipers, hardness testers, etc.
Physical Fitness:
Ability to work in an on-field manufacturing environment for long hours.
Attention to Detail:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Additional Requirements:
Must be comfortable working in a
factory environment with 100% on-field duties
.
Should be able to work in rotating shifts if required.
Strong communication skills for reporting and coordination with the production team.
